Before Thursday, they killed two people and beheaded the third person in Kolokoko, according to the suburb of Oicha.

“Everybody has left the village [Mantumbi]. There are only soldiers left there, who are in the process of helping to remove the bodies of the people who were all killed with knives”.

The violence has been blamed on the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF). It is an armed group that is responsible for a string of massacres since the start of November. More than 100 people are being killed by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) from November.

Democratic Republic of Congo army launched operations against the ADF in the eastern region at the end of October. In response to that, the ADF has carried out mass killings in an apparent bid to discourage civilians from helping the military forces.

Attacks by the ADF and insecurity have ignited deadly protests against the UN’s MONUSCO mission forces in the east of the country who say they have failed to protect their communities.
