‘World Trigger Season 2’ Confirmed by Toei Animation, Release Date & ‘Where to Watch’

Daisuke Ashihara’s World Trigger is one of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump’s most popular action series, and the anime was such a huge hit that it lasted over 70 episodes in total for two seasons. Yet viewers have been eagerly waiting for the show to come back with a third season since after the second season came to an end a couple of years ago.

Thankfully the wait will soon be over as Toei Animation revealed they’re producing a new World Trigger season.

You can check out the new season announcement trailer above, and the new season will be developed by Toei Animation. Information about how long this third season of the series will be or what it will adapt from the original manga are currently scarce, but it has already been reported that the original cast will return for their roles from the first two seasons.

Toei Animation itself plays coy as this is not quite clearly branded “Season 3” and is instead named a “new season,” so in some cases, there may even be a shake-up.

Coincidentally, last year, after being on break since 2016, the Ashihara made his return to the series and provided steady updates to the series with various health breaks in between. So if the new season continues to pick up exactly where it all left off, there’s new material.

When Series Got Licensed ??

World Trigger was originally created in 2013 by the Weekly Shonen Jump from Daisuke Ashihara For Shueisha. The series is set in a city where a mysterious gate is opened and the emergence of monsters known as “neighbors.”
