Article 144 Imposed in Nagpur, Maharashtra Fears a Grave Situation Due To Coronavirus

Corona Update: On account of  COVID-19 and its spread, group tours in Mumbai have been prohibited by the Mumbai Police. Pune, with its high numbers of COVID-19 cases, is closing a lockdown as per the Government’s plans. As per Pune Divisional Commissioner’s statement, section 144 might soon be imposed along with the closing down of all parks.  Section 144 has already been imposed in Nashik and Nagpur.

In Odisha, Section 144 of the  Code of criminal procedure has already been imposed in 5 districts, namely Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, Bhadrak, and Mayurbhanj.

The order is supposed to be in effect till the 31 st of March.

Chief Minister of Maharashtra has stated that he will be forced to resort to ‘harsh’ decisions if people don’t stop unnecessary travel. Maharashtra has recorded an increased number of 39 cases now.

On Wednesday, the Maharashtra government decided to reduce the working capacity to 50 percent of the employees in Government offices.

Narendra Modi to address the nation today 

@PMOIndia’s recent tweets said that the Prime Minister was grateful to all leading the battle against Corona in the forefront. He encouraged the collaboration of individuals and groups to find mechanisms to fight COVID-19.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the nation on the 19th of March at 8 pm. During his address, he will talk about issues related to COVID-19 and efforts to end its spread.
