[Update] The Elder Scroll 6 POSTPONED to 2024. Todd Howard Hints Possible Release Date

Popular game by Bethesda ‘The Elder Scroll 6’ is continuously pushed away due to other commitments. Although the show has massive love and fans across the world, it’s not the current priority of the production.

We have witnessed earlier rumors also that said that it isn’t coming anytime soon.

The Elder Scroll 6: What does Todd Howard say?

The executive producer of Bethesda, Todd Howard, recently opened up about The Elder Scroll 6 in an interview, saying, “everyone should be very patient”. From his words, it seems pretty clear that the show isn’t anywhere near to release.

Currently, all the resources and team of Bethesda hs IP Starfield as the top priority.

Earlier, Todd had said, “We had done so many things, we were going Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Fallout… You have this Starfield game in your head, you sort of say, well, when? It can be never, you could say never. But look, we’re creatives, and it’s like we have to make this game, and this is the time. So Elder Scrolls 6 is going to have to wait a little bit. And plus, again, Elder Scrolls Online is doing so well, it’s so vibrant, that this is the time, both for us creatively and our audience.”

The release cycle may postpone it to 2024

It is rumored that The Elder Scroll 6 may postpone to 2024. That’s a long time to wait.

Pete Hines, who is the Senior Vice President of Communications, said in an interview that Bethesda will follow a 3-year gap between 2 releases.

Based on his statement and reading the release cycle, we can roughly calculate the release of The Elder Scroll 6.

Fallout 76 came to people in 2019 and Starfield is expected in 2021. Adding 3 years to Starfield 2021 release, it is safe to assume that The Elder Scroll will be hitting the gaming screen in 2024. Further to this, we can’t make any guesses that when will it happen in 2024.

Reason for Postponement

Todd Howard also explained the reasons for the postponement of The Elder Scroll 6. He said that they want to have many new and advanced features in the next game, which are not suitable for the current hardware. Therefore, they would like to wait for the advancement of the platforms.

Sony and Microsoft are going to launch their updated console in the near future. He also mentioned that it will be worth waiting for the advancement so that players can have the game for at least the decade after the release.
