On Public Demand, Doordarshan has decided to re-telecast one of the most loved mythological series,‘ Ramayana.’ The show will be broadcasted in the morning and evening, starting from today.
- Ramayan was first aired during 1987. It was based on Valmiki’s Ramayana and Tulsidas’ Ramcharitmanas.
- Doordarshan has decided to telecast it, amid the lockdown in the entire country.
Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan is all set to be telecast on Doordarshan on Public Demand after almost 3 decades. It is a part of the special initiative taken by Prasar Bharati during the nationwide lockdown. Other Popular series like BR Chopra’s Mahabharat, Circus are also Scheduled to be broadcasted in a few days.
On Thursday, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar asked officials to come up with ideas that can ” educate, inform and entertain.” The Public also responded positively to this.
Javadekar then announced the telecast of the Ramayan series on Friday. He said, ” Happy to announce that on Public demand, we are starting re telecast of ‘Ramayan’ from tomorrow, Saturday, March 28 in DD National, one episode in morning 9 pm to 10 pm, another in the evening 9 pm to 10 pm.
There are certain changes that have been made to the format of the series. Earlier, it was shot in the low band using digital tools, which have been obsolete now for over 15-20 years. Now, it is all digital and advanced chip-based formats. However, the changes will not affect the experience of the viewers as the serial will retain its essence.
