Not long ago, Lori Harvey, the step-daughter of Harvey Peter, the famous comedian, and Marjorie Elaine Harvey was in the headlines. Scroll below to know the reason why.
Why was Lori Harvey in the Headlines?
On October 19, 2019, at 9:48 p.m., the Beverly Hills Police Department received a call regarding a collision between a sedan and a parked car. Upon investigation, it was found out that the sedan was being driven by Lori Harvey, who immediately fled the scene after the accident. There were no casualties reported because the car was unoccupied.
Lt. Elisabeth Albanese said, “Harvey left the scene of the collision without providing her information or contacting the police as required by law, and caused a delay in the police investigation.”
Was Lori Harvey arrested for a hit and run case?
Well, some witnesses say Lori was texting while driving, and as a result of that, she collided her vehicle with the parked one.
Because she fled the scene after hitting the car and delayed the police investigation, she was charged with two misdemeanors. As a result, Lori was arrested on October 20.
Her car was retrieved by the police, who found it next to the damaged vehicle, and Lori was nowhere to be seen. She was later identified by a passerby, who saw her fleeing the scene, and was then detained by the police.
She was asked to be present in the court on January 21, 2020. Her attorney, Blair Berk, confirmed that Lori pleaded not guilty in the court. She was asked to be present in the court on February 28, 2020, for a pretrial hearing.
Well, we cannot confirm as to what happened during the court hearing. If she was found guilty, she could have faced jail time of 1 year, but that did not happen. She is currently out of jail and is also active on Instagram.
