The Last of Us Tv Show CONFIRMED by Chernobyl Creator, ‘Craig Mazin’, Expected Plot, Release Date & More

Craig Mazin, creator of the limited series Chernobyl will be adapting the game “The Last of Us”. HBO is taking the project under its wing. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, Naughty Dog has developed the action-adventure game. The game follows Joel, a smuggler who has been tasked to get 14-year old Ellie through the dangerous terrain. Sony Computer Entertainment is the official publisher of the game under the direction of Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley.

One of the creative writers of the Game, Neil Druckmann will also work with Mazin to develop the show. So far, the game has garnered a lot of appreciation for its strong world-building. The Play Station Productions will produce the show in association with Sony Pictures Television.  The show will follow the events of the original game along with additions from “The Last of Us II” set to release on 29th May 2020.

Mazin said, “Getting a chance to adapt his breathtaking work of art has been a dream of mine for years, and I am so honoured to do it in partnership with Neil.” With the success of the critically acclaimed show Chernobyl, there are already a lot of expectations. Mazin has already bagged an Emmy award for outstanding writing.

The game won numerous awards for “Game of the Year” and sold around 17 million copies. It seems like this is the beginning in the coming of many more collaborations with the Playstation Productions. Chris Parnell, the co-president of Sony Pictures Television Studios said: “This is the first of many shows we intend to develop with our friends at PlayStation Productions.”

Additionally, the show will feature Ellie, and Joel along with Riley, Tess, Marlene, Maria and a redacted character who could be Anna, Ellie’s unseen mother.
