The series follows Tanjiro Kamado, a young boy who becomes a demon slayer after his family is killed by the demons, and his sister is abducted to become a demon herself.
With the help of a strange group that claims to be the “Demon Slayer Corps,” Tanjirou seeks revenge for the death of all his loved ones by slaying each demon one by one though he makes sure he stands next to his demonic sister.
Ufotable (Animation studio) produced and aired the series in Japan from April 6 to September 28, 2019. A sequel film was announced at the end of the series finale and is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2020.
The artwork is greatly detailed, and every fight scene has the potential to get the audience hyped. It is a perfect combination of stunning visuals, to incredible soundtracks, to a captivating story.
In February 2020, the franchise recorded over 40.3 million copies sold (including digital copies), making it one of the best selling manga series of the year so far. Not only that, but it has received many awards and is considered to be among the best of the decade.
The English dubbed version is yet to be released. Aniplex of America recently announced at its Anime Expo that the English Dub would soon premiere on the Adult Swim on Cartoon Network.
