Jeopardy host Alex Trebek’s is DEAD at 80 Confirmed by Stanford Art Review
Three-and-a-half-decade old game show Jeopardy may soon see a new host. Current Host Alex Trebek has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Alex broke the news to his fans through a youtube video wherein he also vowed to fight the disease. Fans and celebrities all over the world showed support to the Alex Host after this announcement.
Are you not scared of dying?
Alex Trebek says he is not scared of dying in an interview with CTV; he said, “The thought of pancreatic cancer does not frighten me. I’m 79 years old. Hey, I’ve lived a good life, a full life, and I’m nearing the end of that life. I know that. I’m not going to delude myself, so if it happens, it happens.”
How can you still work?
In spite of suffering from cancer and the disease taking its toll, Alex continues to host the show. Alex says he feels energized whenever the announcer of Johnny Gilbert introduces him in a new episode. The 79-year-old host says that he will continue to be the host of the show as long as his skills are not diminished.
However, he does feel that he is losing his touch. He explained further by saying, “I talk to the producers about it all the time. I say, look, I’m slurring my words. My tongue doesn’t work as well as it used to. The chemo has caused sores inside my mouth. It makes it difficult for me to speak and enunciate properly. … I notice those things, and I’m sure there are observant members of the television audience who notice also.”
