About Magnemite

Magnemite is an Electric and steel-based dual Pokémon. It is called “Coil” in Japanese, “Magnetilo” in Geerman and “Magnéti” in French. No doubt, it is one of the weirdest looking Pokémon with two horseshoe magnet as hands, spherical gray metal body, large eye, and three Philips head screws on its body. Two of these are near the bottom of its body and the one on top of its head, which sort of looks similar to an antenna. The two bottom screws serve no noticeable purpose, although they may be its feet as the Pokedex identifies a footprint similar to that of the screw’s head. Now, without taking much time let’s move to the details on Magnemite Evolution.

How to Evolve Magnemite?

Magnemite starts evolving at level 30 and evolves into Magneton, which in turn evolves into Magnezone when leveled up in a special magnetic field (in Generation IV through Generation VII) or when exposed to a Thunder Stone (in Generation VIII).

How Much Useful is my Magnemite?

The anime has shown that it has emotions and a way of reproducing although Magnemite and all its evolved forms are mechanical creatures. It has even exhibited the need to eat, although its main form of nutrients is electrical currents. Magnemite can be easily found in locations such as power plants or caves with a strong magnetic field.

Being from the Electric family Magnemite is a great addition to the team but its low speed and Attack skills act as a big disadvantage if compared to the result of the family. Consequently, in order to cope up with its shortcomings, it’s got high Special and Defense stats and learns a few really cool attacks, like Thundershock. Some great TMs to use on Magnemite include Thunderbolt and Thunder, but don’t waste a Thunder Wave or Swift on it — it learns those on its own.

The most powerful Magnemite around are found in Pokemon Yellow. But my advice would be to catch a relatively low-level Magnemite (level 16-18) on Route 10 and raise it to a high level (35 or higher), then evolve it into a Magneton.

Magnemite is a great Pokemon choice against Flying and Water-type Pokemons, but don’t make a fool of yourself by putting them against other Electric types, Ground, Dragon, and Grass types. If ever fighting against a Magnemite bring in your best ground Pokemon, because its biggest weakness is it cannot attack a ground Pokemon. Also do remember like all other Electric types, never use Flying or Water Pokemon against it, or you will be writing yourself the tale of your glorious defeat!
