VENONAT

VENONAT

Wondering whether Venonat Evolution will be a better choice or not? We are here to help. This dual-type Bug/Poison Pokémon said to have evolved with a coat of thin, stiff hair that covers its entire body for protection. It possesses large eyes that never fail to spot even minuscule prey.

APPEARANCE

Venonat is an insectoid Pokémon with a spherical body covered in purple fur. The fur releases a toxic liquid and it spreads when shaken violently off their bodies. A pink pincer-like mouth with two teeth, stubby forepaws, and a pair of two-toed feet are visible through its fur. Its limbs are light tan. There is also a pair of white antennae sprouting from the top of its head. However, the most prominent feature on its face is its large, red compound eyes. Venonat’s highly developed eyes act as radar units and can shoot powerful beams.

Venonat can be found in dense temperate forests, where it will sleep in the hole of a tree until nightfall. It sleeps throughout the day because the small insects it feeds on appear only at night. Both Venonat and its prey are attracted to bright lights.

HOW TO EVOLVE?

VENONAT Evolution into Venomoth starting at level 31.

HOW USEFUL IS MY VENONAT?

Toxic Spikes can wear down all Pokemon that are grounded and not Poison-type, and it also breaks Focus Sashes and Sturdy while putting a timer on setup sweepers. Sleep Powder allows Venonat to further support its team by taking an opposing Pokemon out of the battle for a while and giving Venonat free turns to set up Toxic Spikes.

Signal Beam is Venonat’s most consistent and powerful move. Alternatively, Giga Drain gives Venonat a small source of recovery and has better super-effective coverage. Morning Sun gives Venonat a lot of longevity and works well with Eviolite.

The thief should only be used with Berry Juice, as it allows Venonat to steal items after using its Berry Juice or getting hit by Knock Off. Switch Venonat into Fighting- and Fairy-types to easily tank a hit and set up Toxic Spikes or put something to sleep.

Venonat’s primary role is to set up Toxic Spikes, so be aware of opposing grounded Poison-types, as they can absorb them. Venonat is not particularly useful late-game and should often be sacrificed early in the game, after setting up Toxic Spikes and putting something to sleep.
