Battle Cyborg Alita Battle Angel 2 may be seen racing, jumping, fighting it out on the silver screen
Popular Director James Cameroon’s project Alita, the Battle Angel, may not have been a smashing hit at the box-office, but it earned enough to be considered for a sequel. The movie was highly anticipated by the cinema-goers as Cameron had spent almost two decades developing the film. The sci-fi, the cyberpunk film, is based on a 1990’s Japanese manga called Gunnm and video game Battle Angel.
Why is there so much delay in Alita Battle Angel 2?
The Movie earned 404.9 million dollars worldwide and created a dedicated fan base who call themselves Alita’s Army. Roza Salazar, the main protagonist, says she would love to reprise her role but has heard nothing from the studios about a sequel.
Although the movie was produced by 20th Century fox, the decision of green lighting the sequel will be on Disney. Disney and Fox recently merged. This could be one reason why the future of the Alita is still doubtful.
Alita Battle Angel 2 Plot
The first movie ended with Alita losing her lover but finding her place in the new world and becoming the new Motorball champion. The sequel will likely see Alita leaving Iron City and heading to the City of Zalem.
The sequel may explore what happened between the fall and Alita being discovered in the Junkyard of Iron City? How did Zalem survive the invasion? What does Zalem look like? And What does Nova want?. There is plenty of scope for a sequel, and it will be interesting to see which path Director and Producer chooses.
Who is coming back for Alita Battle Angel 2?
Apart from Rosa Salazar, Christopher Waltz is expected to be back as Dr. Dyson Ido, the doctor, and bounty hunter. Edward Norton should also be back as Nova. A new character Clive Lee is likely going to be introduced in the sequel.
When will we see Alita again?
If the sequel is sanctioned, it will take a considerable time for the creators to make the movie as the script has to be great, and CGI-VFX effects will also be time-consuming. It might be a while before we see Alita in theaters again.
