Altered Carbon is based on the 2002 novel of the same name by Richard K Morgan. The cyberpunk sci-fi series has two seasons. Season 1 was released in 2018 and Season 2 in February 2020. Marvel’s Anthony Mackie “swooped in” for Season 2. Additionally, the mind-bending thriller created a wider fan base. In April, several articles circulated about the cancellation of the show. Release Date of Altered Carbon Season 3
Netflix has canceled the show along with several other series. The reason cited is the big-budget of actors and production amidst the crisis. However, we shouldn’t give up hope. The book series is available which is easier to get further good material. Also, the visual effects and the mind rattling keeps it in our good books.
Season 1 roped in high television ratings and Season 2 cast a fair share of ratings. So, renewal won’t be harmful to the production team. Fans have come out on social media in support of the sci-fi series. Guess, we haven’t had enough of this show yet! About the Show!
It is a cyberpunk series set 360 years in the future. The main idea is consciousness can be transferred to different bodies. Accordingly, a person’s memories and consciousness are transferred to a disk called “stack”. Following which it can be fitted in different human bodies called “sleeves.” It is based in the fictional future metropolis Bay City.
It revolves around Takeshi Kovacs, a former soldier, now an investigator. He was a part of a rebel group and was the only member who survived. Consequently, he joins hands with his enemies, preparing to solve a murder. Season 1 consists of ten episodes while Season 2 consists of 8 episodes. An anime film was also released in March this year based on the show.
