Dr. Amie Harwick, an ex-fiancee of Drew Carey’s family and sex therapist and actor, found dead from alleged murder at her house in Hollywood Hills on Saturday. TMZ first broke the news. Reporting that the 38-year-old had fallen from her third-story balcony to her death, following a struggle inside her home.
Gareth Pursehouse, a 41-year-old ex-boyfriend from Harwick. A suspect in her death and arrested and booked on Saturday afternoon on suspicion of murder. TMZ reported that Pursehouse’s restraining order against Harwick ended before her death.
After they broke up, Harwick had expressed fear about Pursehouse. But over the past few weeks, they had seen each other at some point. Heavy could not reach Pursehouse for comment,, and it’s unclear whether he’s hired an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
Police Cited Evidence of Forced Entry:
Although Harwick found unresponsive under her home’s third-story balcony. Died in a hospital due to her fall-related injuries. TMZ reports that cops cited surveillance camera evidence that “a white male dress in black” forced entry into Harwick’s home and the two struggles inside the home before she fell off the balcony.
Her roommate told cops that Harwick assaulted inside her home when they arrived on the scene, and the call to 911 reported a woman in Hollywood Hills screaming.
The Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement, according to KTLA that the investigation revealed possible evidence of a struggle upstairs as well as forced entry. An area canvass located further evidence of an intruder (suspect) entering. So, he left the property after the murder.
The ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse arrested around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Booked about 2:15 a.m. in the Los Angeles County Jail. On Sunday. He is being held on bail of $2 million.
