What is better than a good old Netflix show to binge-watch during this lockdown period, right ma’am?
Well, the word MA’AM is enough for the fans of Richard Madden, to make them correctly guess which show I am talking about.
Bodyguard is the perfect mixture of political thriller, crime, and drama. The first season of this British series was released on the 26th of August, 2018. After receiving much appreciation for its brilliant direction, cinematography, storyline, and acting, the show got renewed for a second season.
Bodyguard: Series Details
The story of Bodyguard revolves around a war veteran, Police Sergeant David Budd, aka Richard Madden, who is suffering from PTSD after experiencing the horrors of war. He is now assigned the duty to protect the powerful and ambitious home secretary, Julia Montague. He finds his ideas and beliefs being torn apart into shreds because Julia’s idea of politics is something that David is completely against.
This show is all about the conflict of choosing between beliefs and duties. It will also give you an insight into the controversies related to the government.
Bodyguard Season 2: Expected Plot
Well, we can expect to see Richard in the role of a bodyguard again protecting some members from the royal family. Though yet not confirmed, but in an interview, Richard hinted at a time leap.
“I and Jed both agree that there’s something much more interesting in, ‘Let’s catch up with him 18 months later, two years later after this has happened, and say where is he now? What’s happened to him?’” said Richard.
[spoiler] Julia was killed by Luke Aitkens, but if fan theories are to be believed, she isn’t dead actually and is probably safe and in hiding. After all, nobody usually means no death, right ma’am?
Bodyguard Season 2: Release
Though the makers have yet not renewed the show for a second season, the chances for Bodyguard season 2 are high; after all, the first season of the show was a major hit, and the finale raised some questions which need to be answered.
