The Last of Us is a post-apocalypse dystopian game developed by Naughty Games and premiered by Sony. The first part of the game came in 2013. It’s been 6 years now, and we have the excellent news that Part 2 is coming. It is named as ‘The Last of Us Part II.’ Neil Druckmann & Halley Gross are the writers of the game.

The Last of Us: Storyline

The game is a third-person viewpoint game, in which the character named Joel is controlled by the gamer. The game takes the role of the post-apocalypse dystopian phase of the US, where most of the people are cannibals and affected by a fungus named Cordecyps. There are many hostiles, humanoids, and cannibals in the phase. Joel takes Ellie with him to train her and assist him in the fight against the cannibals.

The game is pretty gross with both Part I and Part II as M rating by ESRB. Game is violent, gross, and has sexually explicit content with private parts revealing at times.

The Last of Us Part II: Synopsis

In Part II, Ellie will be the lead character at the control of the gamer and will continue the fight against the cannibals. Ellie is only 19-year old but has been trained in the first part by Joel. Now, she gets a lot of new warfares, including advanced weapons, bombs, stealth, and firearms, at the choice of the gamer. Another interesting fact of the second part is that players will be able to change their environment as they get more points.

As the players will continue to increase their points, their hearing and awareness senses will continue to rise. Players will be categorized into 3 categories – Survival, Crafting, and Stealth. As they develop better hearing senses, they will be able to identify the locations of the enemy by using their hearing capabilities across the walls.

Here’s how the PlayStation website has provided the plot:

“Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors.

When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. As she hunts that responsible one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.”

Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson will be playing the roles of Joey and Ellie, respectively.

Part II: Release Date

Earlier, Naughty games had provided the release date of February 2020. But, later, they postponed it to May 29, 2020. The story is realistic scenery with better characterization and better control of the character and warfares. Therefore, it was loved by many fans and critics across the globe.

The game will be released in 4 editions – Special, Standard, Collector, and Elite. Each version will be unique, with different warfares and weapons, different powers, and the environment.

Although, there is no official news that date may again postpone from May 29 to some other period in the future. Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic Outbreak, there are slight chances that it will delay further until the next announcement. As of now, the Playstation website shows the release date as 05.29.2020.
