Kratos and Atreus will continue their adventure in the sequel
Fans of hit action-adventure game God of War will be delighted to hear that the next installment is coming out. Gaming studio Sony Santa Monica took a huge risk in 2018 by launching a reboot of hit game God of War 2018 for Play Station 4. Despite the big risk involved, the game became one of the best-selling games of 2018. Sony Santa Monica aims to make more profit from the sequel of the game, also known as God of War 5. The new game will be playable on PlayStation5.
Basic Premise
God of War follows Greek God of War Kratos and his son Atreus. Previously, the God of War games were loosely based Greek mythology, but now the game has shifted from Greek to Norse mythology. Two main protagonists travel across Norway, killing monsters, looking for adventure, and completing missions.
God of War 5 will most likely pick up the story from where God of War 4 finished. Toward the end of God of War, we saw Baldur dying. Freya swearing revenge on Kratos and Atreus. Furthermore, it was also revealed that Atreus is half-god half-giant, along with the fact that his alternate name is Loki.
God of War 5 named Ragnarok?
God of War 5 is rumored to be titled Ragnarok. According to Norse Mythology, Ragnork is about the end of many Gods. Relying on the cut scene, It can be reasonably guessed that Thor and Odin will come after Kratos and most likely be the central villains of the new game. Moreover, we may see Atreus grow and become a full-fledged adult.
How are the preparations going?
The gaming studio is working hard to make the new game a success. They are hiring new staff and expanding their existing team. The new game promises improved graphics and gigantic monsters.
God of War 5 Release Date
There is no official word about the release date or the plot of the game. There are strong chances that the game will hit the shelves towards the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021.
