Car lovers and motor-heads would be delighted to know that Grand Tour season 5 will be Returning. Amazon, to diversify its content on Amazon Prime, agreed to produce the series exclusively. The show is inspired by BBC’s hit series Top Gear. Many viewers believe that Grand Tour is a continuation of Top Gear as the original creators of Top Gear are also a part of Grand Tour.
This belief is further strengthened if we compare the format of the two shows. For the first three seasons, Grand Tour followed a pattern similar to that of Top Gear that is car reviews, celebrity guests, timed laps, motoring challenges, and studio segments.
The show is available in 195 regions and has received positive reviews from critics and viewers. A season typically consists of 11-14 episodes. None of the seasons contain the same number of episodes. One episode is released weekly.
NEW STYLE
Show took a new turn in season 4 when they decide to make the series more like full-length feature films dedicated to road trips, journeys, and adventure specials. In season 4, the gang travels to beautiful locations in south-east Asia such as Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, and Malaysia. Apart from the format of the show, Season 4 also departs from releasing weekly episodes. So far, 1 episode and 1 unique have been published on the online streaming platform. It should be mentioned here Amazon Prime has not officially announced a new season of Grand Tour. Still, the news came from producer Andy Wilman’s Instagram feed, which includes a photo of the team with the caption “ Grand Tour film crew just receiving news that they have to work with us for another two years,” implying that a new season will be released.
RELEASE DATE
There is no information on where the gang will travel in season 5 or when it will be released. Thinking about what can they possibly do with cars is very exciting even for someone who is not a motorhead.
