With an IMDb rating of 8.9, Gravity Falls, the American animated series created by Alex Hirsch, is a well-known name even among the non-viewers of the show. The Mystery/ Comedy/ Coming of Age Drama series was released by Disney and Disney XD on 15 June 2012 and was even Disney XD’s highest-rated show in 2015. Hirsch has pointed out that the show hasn’t been canceled by Disney, rather it was his own choice to end the series after Season 2. This has the avid viewers of the show worried as they were hoping for Gravity Falls to return for Season 3.

Gravity Falls Season 3 Official Announcement
Alex Hirsch stated on 20 November 2015 that the series of Gravity Falls was officially coming to an end with its second season, as per his own choice. He claimed that it wasn’t “being canceled- it’s being finished”. Moreover, he has also said that he is still open to the idea of special episodes. So, there is room for more ideas and stories. Don’t worry; Gravity Falls hasn’t reached the finish line yet. More content will be coming out in the future.

Gravity Falls Season 3 Release Date
The series finale, also the second season finale, was an hour-long release titled “Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back The Falls” and aired on 15 June 2016. Thereafter, on 24 July 2018, a new follow-up graphic novel was released that continued the Gravity Falls saga and in August 2020, the episode “Wax Museum” of the show “Amphibia” was broadcasted. This episode was inspired by Gravity Falls. We can hope for more and more such specials in the future.
