ICSE 2020 And ISC 2020 Exam Postponed Due To Coronavirus

Because of Covid-19 spreading across the country, and with much uncertainty and speculation in the air, the Council, in the interest of the health and well-being of the students and the teaching community, has decided to postpone all ICSE and ISC 2020 exam scheduled to be conducted between the period March 19 to March 31, 2020. The board said that it would announce the revised dates once the situation improves.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has also canceled all Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations that were scheduled between 19 and 31 March.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) has asked all the schools, universities, engineering and technical institutes to postpone and reschedule all the examinations and entrance tests after March 31.

Students and parents are equally relieved with the examinations being postponed due to safety concerns in the ongoing disease outbreak situation in the country.

In the light of the COVID-19 outbreak, the CISCE Board has allowed teachers involved in the evaluation of answer sheets for ICSE and ISC Exams to carry on the evaluation work from home. According to the notification, the centralized evaluation process has been put on hold by the CISCE, and instead, teachers will be allowed to work from home.

The HRD Ministry has issued a notification recently confirming that JEE Main 2020 April Exam will be postponed in the light of the rescheduling of the CBSE 12th Exam 2020 after March 31 due to the Coronavirus crisis. Following this, NTA is expected to reschedule JEE Main 2020 April exam to avoid a direct clash between CBSE Board Exams and Engineering Entrance Test. The notification also states that JEE Main being a major national-level exam, would require candidates to travel across cities, which is currently not advised during the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
