Everybody’s favorite Robert Downey Jr. may make a comeback in MCU in some form if Disney plays its cards right
Fans loved the master-student relationship between Iron Man and Spiderman in Captain America: Civil War and Avengers. It turns out the two actors also have a mentor-mentee relationship off the screen as well. Robert Downey Jr. also guides Tom Holland in maneuvering his way through the tricky world of Hollywood.
Good Guy Tom Holland
Tom Holland created the good guy image for himself by finding a creative way to keep Spiderman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He acted as a mediator between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios and helped them continue their working relationship. The actor also tweeted about this. He said: “We did it, Mr. Stark.”
Robert Downey Jr Back to MCU
Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Holland regularly face time with each other and go on hiking trips. They took a hiking trip at a time when Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios were negotiating profit sharing from Spiderman.
New reports suggest that Robert Downey Jr. loves working with Holland so much that he is ready to come back to MCU without charging his exorbitantly high fees. This could be the bargaining chip of MCU to rope in Robert Downey Jr.
It has already been confirmed that Iron-Man star will make a cameo in the upcoming Marvel movie Black Widow. In addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the two actors worked together in the recently released movie Dr. Dolittle. Holland had a voice role in the movie, so viewers did not get to see the two actors on-screen.
Moreover, recently a deepfake video of two actors enacting a scene from the movie Back to the future went viral on the Internet. Fans loved the video, and rumors of a remake Back to the future also surfaced but later turned out to be false.
This is an interesting development. However, it remains to be seen as to how MCU will get Robert Downey Jr. back and in what capacity. Whatever the project that maybe it shall have Tom Holland in it.
Fans love to see the two actors sharing the screen.
