While the reign of endgame as the box office king continues, James Cameron has something else to say. James Cameron says Avatar 2 will be the highest-grossing movie ever. Cameron’s movies, ‘Titanic,’ and ‘ avatar’ have ruled the box office for a while now.
With the release of endgame, the record set by these movies broke, making endgame the highest-grossing movie ever. “I think it’s a certainty,” Cameron told USA Today about ‘Avatar 2’ eventually passing ‘Avengers’ in theatres. But let’s give ‘Endgame’ their moment and let’s celebrate that people are going to the movie theatre,” he added.
He also said he enjoyed the superhero movie, but Avatar 2 will edge out by ‘one-quarter of a percent.’ “I don’t want to sound snarky after I took the high road (by offering congratulations). But they beat us by one-quarter of a percent. I did the math in my head while driving in this morning. I think accountants call that a rounding error,” he said.
Avatar 2 will be out in cinemas on December 17, 2021, followed by Avatar 3 on December 22, 2023. Avatar fans have been patiently waiting for a sequel forever. Avatar 2 was originally set for release back in 2015, but one delay after another set in, which pushed the date back again and again.
The one thing we do know about Avatar 2 is that the story will be focused around the oceans of the planet Pandora, and what details we have about new characters would appear to confirm that much.
