Payne and Henry reportedly met all the way back in 2015 when Henry attended a One Direction meet-and-greet on September 3, 2015, in Buffalo, New York during 1D’s On The Road Again tour. Although they didn’t start dating until years later. Three years later, they were photographed together in Italy at Lake Como for a Dolce & Gabana gala dinner held on July 7, 2018.
Paparazzi photographed the two together but the show-stealer was Henry’s group pic that she posted with Payne in it. Payne had announced his split with his previous partner, Cheryl Tweedy a week before the dinner took place.
Spotted Together!
The stunning couple was papped at the Bulgari hotel in London, just about a month after the gala dinner in Italy. It was reported that the two had reconnected at the event and went on a low-key date in London.
Making it Public!
The media has started speculating about their romantic adventures after they were spotted holding hands in Mayfair, London in late August 2019. Apparently, Payne wanted to be sure about this relationship before making it public. He is very close to Cheryl and he wanted to be sure before going public.
On September 20, 2019, Payne officially accepted the relationship by posting a picture with Maya on Instagram.

On August 27, 2020, The Daily Mail published pictures of Henry wearing what looked like an engagement ring. Payne made an appearance on Good Morning America a week after and confirmed the engagement rumors himself.
