The famous anime adaptation of Attack on Titan will be back for a fourth and final season. The stories of Eren, Mikasa, and Armin will conclude, and hopefully, the fans will not be left disappointed. Although the revelation of it being the final outing may disappoint fans, it also could allow for the show to conclude on its terms, and not suffer from a drawn-out and tiring career like many other anime shows.
Season 4 is scheduled to be released in the Fall of 2020. The last season could also be split into two blocks (as was the case with the previous season) of ten to twelve episodes each. Do note that the parallel manga series has also entered into its final arc, but there is no saying on when precisely the last chapter will close. This does put the anime adaptation in a predicament of sorts, as it is yet to catch up with its manga counterpart in terms of plot coverage.

Season 4 is expected to dive deep into the history of Titans. The Titan Shifter will also make its first appearance at some point. However, one could expect the anime series not to include certain portions of the lengthier manga; fans will have to wait to find out what all will not make the final cut on air.
Season 3 finally explored Eren’s fabled basement, exposing many truths and surprises to the audience. The manga went on to focus on a new array of characters in the enemy land; it remains to be seen on how faithful the anime will be concerning the manga.
Attack on Titan season 4 will air on the NHK General TV network in Japan. Subtitled episodes will also be available on Crunchyroll, shortly after their original airing.
