The Rising of the Shield Hero is an anime adaptation from a light novel series of the same name. The anime aired in January 2019 on the AT-X network.
Shield Hero Season 2 Storyline
Naofumi Iwatani, a 20-year old student, discovers a book about four heroes. He is summoned into a parallel world with three other young men from parallel universes, and they become the four chosen heroes from the book.
They all receive weapons of their own with Iwatani having the only defensive one, a shield. The other three heroes gain support from the kingdom, unlike Naofumi, whose companion accuses him of raping her.

The first season starts with Naofumi waking up in his room and then going to the library. He discovers a book named ‘The four cardinal weapons.’ Soon into the fantasy world of that book with three other people equipped with weapons.
These four are given the title the Heroes, who will save the Melromac kingdom. The princess of the kingdom, Malty, betrays him by falsely accusing him of sexually assaulting her. The latter now lose the trust of the people and decides to train alone in order to accomplish his goals.
In the season finale, The shield hero, Noufumi, fights Glass, a vassal wielder from another world, to a battle of death. The battle ends with Glass retreating. Then, Naofumi approaches Raphtalia to thank her for supporting him.
