Kissing Booth was one of the most rewatched Netflix movies of 2018. So the fans got their Valentines’ day gift of 2019, a confirmation of Kissing booth 2!
We don’t know the exact release date as of now, but an Instagram post confirmed the release time as spring 2020. The filming of the sequel started in June 2019 and ended in October 2019.
Since Jacob Elordi wasn’t seen anywhere some time back, the fans were worried if he would return for the sequel. Jacob, however, has recently confirmed his return. With Joey King as Elle Evans and Joel Courtney returning as Lee Flynn.
There will be some new faces in town for the sequel as well as Netflix has confirmed that Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Taylor Perez have joined the cast. They’re starring as Chloe and Marco and will be “love interests… but not for each other”.
There is no confirmation yet for some other characters. We don’t know if Meganne Young will be back as Lee’s girlfriend, Rachel. No news for Bianca Bosch as Olivia, Jessica Sutton, as Mia and Zandile-Izandi Madliwa as Gwyneth. It’s also not clear if Molly Ringwald will be back as Noah and Lee’s mother.
The Kissing Booth ended with Noah going off to college and Elle telling him that she’s not sure if they’ll stay together. However, she recently told Seventeen, “Elle goes to visit Noah at college. Of course, there have to be some crazy things that get out of hand, but I don’t know”.
Netflix described the plot as: “Elle Evans just had the most romantic summer of her life with her reformed bad-boy boyfriend, Noah Flynn. But now Noah is off to Harvard, and Elle heads back to high school for her senior year.”
Beth Reekles has written The Kissing Booth 2: Going the distance. The author has confirmed that the movie will be based on the book.
