Mindhunter, a Netflix serial killer drama which is based on the book named ‘Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit, which is written by a retired FBI agent John E Douglas and Mark Olshaker. It was created by a Joe Penhall and produced by David Fincher in 2017. A vast number of people liked both seasons of this series, and there is still hope for season 3 to be renewed.
If you have watched season 2 of this series, then you must be full of questions that were making you feel worried about the Hold Ford, Bill Tench, and other actors’ perspective. But for now, Netflix has put this series on an undecided hold. As Fincher, who directed the half of season 1 and some episodes of season 2. He is currently busy with shooting for Netflix black and white movie named ‘Mank,’ the story about the writing of citizen Kane and stars Gary old man. So, he can join for the shoot of season 3 at earliest by 2021, and hence the premiere will be released sooner by 2022.
As per now, the cast who confirmed to continue to work in this series is- Jonathan Groff, as Holden and Fincher will join in the future. Other actors are- Stacey Roca as Bill’s wife (Nancy Tench), Joe Tuttle as Greg Smith, and Michael Cerveris as Ted Gunn and Sony Valicanti as Dennis Rader. There is a possibility that more casts will return, including- Albert Jones as Special Agent, Jim Bormy, and Cameron Bitton as Ed. Kemper. But there are no official announcements made yet.
As Mindhunter’s season, 1 took place in the 1970s, season 2, in the early 1980s. So, it is expected that season 3 will take place in the mid-1980s. It’s shooting will be done om some new location other than Pittsburgh. And more investigations will be done, and infamous serial and BTK killers will be seen along with the continuation of the story of Bill’s adopted son. And in short, it can be concluded that season 3 will be a complete remaining of the series.
