Famous American singer Nicki Minaj shocked her fans all around the world when she started dating a man who is a registered sex offender and guilty second-degree manslaughter. The couple started dating back in 2018, and after staying together for less than a year, they tied the knot. The bride herself made the news public using her Instagram handle when she uploaded a pic of a mug and hat, saying the bride and groom.
The couple first dated when Anaconda hitmaker was 16 years old, and her husband Kenneth Petty was 21. Five years before they dated, Kenneth Petty was convicted of raping a 16-year old girl. NYPD arrested Petty for rape in 1994, and he was convicted of the same in 1995. He served four years in prison as punishment for his crime and now is a registered sex offender who has to give details of his whereabouts to authorities at periodic intervals.
Shot a man thrice
Being a registered sexual offender is not the only criminal act Petty is guilty of. In less than two years after being released from prison, Petty, on April 27, 2002, shot a man in the stomach thrice using a handgun.
The victim Lamont Robinson was rushed to hospital where he left for his heavenly abode but did identify Petty as his attacker by nodding at the photo of Petty when police brought him pictures of his potential attackers. Petty after his previous run-in with the law was quick to react and somehow got the charges dropped to manslaughter after cutting a deal with the authorities, he was sentenced to a term of 10 years in prison in March 2006 after pleading guilty to the charge. He was released after seven years.
