Although there’s no date set for the handheld version launch, the huge community of gaming enthusiasts believes that it is still worth the wait as it has created a wave of excitement.
Apex Legends is a Battle Royale genre game which came out in February 2019. The game was developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. The product USP is a game that includes different characters, and these characters have various different abilities.
Apex Legends displays an island environment where up to 20 three-person squads land there and start finding the best way to survive. The goal is to find the weapons, supplies, and get ready to fight and defeat all the other players. Each player must move continuously to not being tracked down and catch outside the play zone. The win always goes to the last team alive.
Earlier, Ninja, an American YouTuber, and Internet personality used to stream the game but later on, surprisingly was banned by the gaming company.
Huge Fandom
Upon its launch, it had received positive reviews from the critics and surpassed over 25 million players in the first week and 50 million in its first month.
It’s earlier seasons were Wild Frontier, Battle Charge, Meltdown, and its latest season Assimilation was launched on February 4, 2020. The new villain in Assimilation, Revenant, has already become popular among the game players.
Apex Legends is already hugely popular on Windows, PS4, Xbox One, and now it’s coming to a new market and an entirely new platform, i.e., mobile phones.
EA will be working with a Chinese partner to “create a mobile Apex Legends that will be released globally,” as first reported by industry insider and analyst Daniel Ahmad. “Rolling mobile out in China, you need to have a partner, and we’re, as we’ve said in the prepared remarks today, working with a partner there. We’re very excited about the opportunity,” EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen confirmed.
Apex Legend had beat Pubg a while ago, and now its biggest competitor includes Fortnite and Call of Duty. Pubg and Call of Duty had already launched its version on AppStore and Playstore Android while Fortnite is still to launch on Playstore. As far as Apex Legends is concerned, there is great doubt as to whether it will be launched on IOS or Android or both.
Andrew Wilson, Chief Executive at EA, has confirmed that the game wouldn’t be launching until the company’s fiscal year of 2021, which begins on October 1, 2020.
The company had confirmed the mobile release in May 2019 itself, but taking into account the huge fandom that the game has, it seems a time too long to wait.
