The future of Deadpool is foggy but certain.
Disney acquired a set of new fictional characters, rights, licenses when it took over Fox movies. This move allows Disney to further expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe because now Disney has famous X-men under their belt. However, there is one character whose entry in the Marvel universe may be difficult. This one character is the merc with mouth Deadpool.
Deadpool and Deadpool 2 were smash hit at the box-office and fans loved Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. Fans have high hopes from Deadpool 3. Deadpool is an x rated movie so it will be challenging for the producers to fit an x-rated character into friendly PG-13 Marvel movies.
How will Deadpool be introduced in MCU?
One way to introduce Deadpool in the MCU is some kind of cross-world leap due to events in Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness. Furthermore, new reports suggest that Marvel Studio is planning to wipe Deadpool and Deadpool 2 from continuity. As a result, Deadpool 3 will be a soft reboot with the same cast or the new Deadpool in the Marvel movies will be an alternate version of Deadpool in earlier movies. We may hear some jokes about it as well.
This decision may not be welcomed by fans as fans hate studios disturbing the timeline of their favorite films. Moreover, this is a very unimaginative way to introduce a comic character into a big universe. What we know for sure is that Deadpool 3 is happening. Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have assured the fans and further said that they are working with Marvel to figure out the best way to introduce Deadpool in the MCU.
