Hit animated Netflix series “Castlevania” gets renewed for a 3rd Season, and All Major Characters are expected to Return.
Animated series Castlevania just concluded its second season and seems like Netflix loves it as much as the fans do. Animated series is based on a video game series of the same name developed by Japenese entertainment conglomerate Konami.
The first two seasons are primarily based on the 1989 version of the game known as Castlevania 3: Curse of the Dracula. Set in medieval time, Castlevania follows Trevor Belmont, the last surviving member of the shamed Belmont Clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from Count Dracula.
Lisa Tepes, the wife of count Dracula, is falsely accused of witchcraft and lynched on a stake by people of Wallachia. Angry and saddened by the death of her wife, Count Dracula swore revenge on all people of Wallachia and planned to annihilate them by calling an army of demons to destroy and kill everything and everyone in the city.
Trevor Belmont, the monster hunter along with magician Sypha Belandes and Dracula’s dhampir son Alucard, makes a final stand against evil forces of Dracula.
Movie or Television Series?
Seeing how quickly the series got renewed for a season 2 and season 3, it can be comfortably said that Netflix holds this series in high regard. The animated series is written by best-selling author and comic book icon Warren Ellis. Ellis wrote the series as a direct to video film and project for various reasons was in tatters until finally, Adi Shankar boarded the project, and Netflix decided to stream it. Ellis rewrote the series adapting it for a television format.
When will it begin?
Details about Season 3 have not been revealed yet, but the new season will contain 10 episodes; all three major characters are expected to return — no official information about the plot, release date, trailer, or new cast members been released yet. Fans are, however, excited for the new season and cannot wait for Belmont to start his new adventure.
