To viewers, the gap between seasons 4 and 5 of the Starz show has been appallingly long. But the wait is over, and they can watch the show’s next chapter, which is based on Diana Gabaldon’s novels.
Outlander season 5 will ramp up the drama with the Frasers facing a violent colonial battle, which is a reference to the American Revolution.

Each of the twelve episodes will air Sunday weekly. British viewers on Amazon Prime Video can stream the season 5 Premiere episode on Monday, Feb. 17.

Outlander season 5 brings back the show’s two stars, Caitriona Balfe as Claire Fraser and Jamie Fraser as Sam Heughan.
Sophie Skelton as Brianna Randall, Claire and Jamie’s daughter are also cast members; Richard Rankin as Roger Wakefield, Brianna’s partner; Duncan Lacroix as Murtagh; Maria Doyle Kennedy as Aunt Jocasta; Ed Speleers as Stephen Bonnet; David Berry as Lord John Grey; Lauren Lyle as Marsali; John Bell as Ian; Caitlyn O’Ryan as Lizzie; Billy Boyd as Gerald; Phaedre as Natalie Simpson; and Phillip Wylie as Chris Trump.
And it’s possible that Tobias Menzies will return as Frank Randall, Claire’s modern-day husband. Co-creator Ronald D. Moore of the outlander show told Elle, “There is a possibility you might see Frank again.”
Outlander season 5 adds a few new cast members, too. The show announced Paul Gorman’s casting as Josiah and Kezzie Beardsley (twins), and Fanny Beardsley as Bronwyn James.
