Virender Shewag Tweeted An Apt Song On Social Distancing Due To Coronavirus

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag shared a song that is apt for these times of social distancing amid coronavirus fears.

The 41-year-old cricketer took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the “Door Door Se” song from the 1952 movie “Saqi.”


The old Bollywood movie song performance in monochrome to a romantic number which may actually be about forbidden love but appears very fitting to the advice issued by the various health care bodies and officials- particularly on social distancing. Everyone has been asking people to take precautionary steps during this dark time. The first step is to minimize the physical contact with each other i.e., social distancing.

Along with many celebrities, former cricketer Virender Sehwag also took to Twitter to advise fans about social distancing and won the internet. He shared a song from an old Bollywood movie and wrote, “Apt In times like these. Door se #SocialDistancing”.The song has the lyrics “Door se, door se ji ho door se. Paas nahi aaiye, haath naa lagaiye. Kijiye nazaara door door se,” which roughly means “Far away, stay far away. Please don’t come near. Don’t touch me, just watch from a distance.”

Coronavirus or COVID-19 originated in China’s Wuhan City in December but has now taken over different countries like wildfire. The World Health Organization (WHO) has already termed it a Pandemic with a number of cases reaching 2,00,000 people around the world and caused 8,000 deaths globally. In India, the tally is 300 plus.

People all over the world have gone into self-quarantine and have been advising everyone to go into self-isolation to protect themselves from the deadly virus. It is important to take all the preventive measures to ensure good health.

Since the initial periods of the novel coronavirus outbreak, people have been advised by the health officials to practice social distancing and avoid any sort of physical contact with other people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the nation on Thursday, March 19, and announced a Janata Curfew Sunday, March 22, from 7 am to 9 pm.
