When is Beastars Season 2 Coming to Netflix? When is the Release Date? Plot & More Updates

Netflix’s “NX” account on Twitter confirmed on January 13, 2020, that the first season of Beastars would be available for streaming from March 13 this year. Do note that the first season of this series is already open on the platform for the Japan region only. It has twelve episodes.

Beastars is a multiple award-winning Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Paru Itagaki. The story takes place in a modern world of civilized, anthropomorphic animals with a cultural divide between the carnivores and herbivores.

In the aftermath of brutal killing and devouring of a herbivore character, an uneasy tension develops between the two different ‘cultures’. Another dimension to the plot is added as the protagonist (a sizeable gray wolf by the name of Legos) develops feelings for a timid, female hare called Haru.

Beastars anime will soon be available to all on Netflix

The manga series began publishing in 2016.

The animated series is being produced by animation company Studio Orange, which is best known for bringing Land Of The Lustrous anime.

Reports indicate that Orange, the animation studio behind the series, is set to produce the second season too. Season 2 is expected to premiere in October 2020 and will be available to stream on Netflix in 2021.

Owing to the highly dedicated fan-following that anime enjoys worldwide, streaming platforms like Netflix are looking to invest big and reap the rewards. Netflix will be adding this dynamic series for its viewers to enjoy, along with multiple other anime titles that are already available. “We see the audience for anime in every single country we operate in,” is what John Derderian (Netflix’s head of content in Japan) said.
