Netflix’s dark psychological thriller You, has been enjoying stellar reviews and reactions since its release. The series was launched in 2018 and first aired on Lifetime on September 9, 2018. On TV, the show failed to gather a lot of interest.
However, on Netflix, the series became a critical success. So, Netflix decided to make it a Netflix original. Season 2 of You was released on December 26, 2019.

First of all, what is the premise of YOU Season 3?
The first season of “You” is based on a 2014 novel by Caroline Kepnes. The series follows the life of a New York Bookstore owner, Joe Goldberg, who is also a serial killer. Tensions arise when Joe falls in love with a customer of his store, Genevieve Beck. As a result, it begins a tumultuous story that follows as this love quickly turns into an extreme, toxic, and delusional obsession.
The second season follows Joe’s move from New York to Los Angeles and how he navigates a new life, trying to forget older ticks.

The production on the You season 3 has already started, as declared by Co-creator and showrunner Sera Gamble via her twitter. This comes after Netflix declared that You season 3 would be released in 2021.
This was revealed after Penn Badgley teased that fans could expect You season 3 for the psychological thriller.
Netflix declared that You season 3 would have 10 new episodes. Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti, the co-creators of the show, will be returning as the executive producers of the show. Sera will also be acting as the showrunner.
Both Sera Gamble and Penn Badgely have teased that there a lot of stories to tell and that Joe Goldberg deserves a better life. So, it is safe to assume that fans are in for a real treat when You season 3 is finally released.

At this point in time, the only Penn Badgely (Joe Goldberg), Victoria Pedretti (Love Quinn), and Jenna Ortega are scheduled to return. Following the story of the first and second season, it is also possible that Joh Stamos may reprise his role as Dr. Nicky.
