It came out in 2013 under their Dengeki Bunko imprint. Additionally, it’s serialized in the magazine Dengeki G’s comic. The amazing artwork of the manga is completed by Kazui Ishigami. The manga continued from 2014 to 2018. Additionally, the anime came out on 7 April 2016 and continued till 23 June 2016. It aired on the ATX network. Also, it’s adapted under Project No. 9. The story revolves around – Hideki “Rusian” Nishimura, a typical Otaku who spends all of his time playing video games at home. He’s the basic loner, who never leaves home. All his friends are virtual ones. However, one day, he musters the courage to propose to a girl virtually. Sadly, he’s rejected after the mocking session. What’s more, the boy realizes that the person he thought of as a girl was actually an – old man.
Our protagonist is stunned and taken aback. Therefore, he makes a strong resolution. With strong determination, Hideki decides that he will never trust a girl that he meets online. Well, consequently, he begins living as a casual Otaku. He focuses entirely on online video games and isn’t serious about relationships. Subsequently, he becomes a part of a guild that has three other players. Will And You Thought There is Never a Girl Online Season 2 continue on this?
Out of these three players, one has a female avatar that goes by the name Ako. Well, our boy is in for luck because Ako is madly in love with him. She is completely obsessed with him and even wants to get married to him. Though Hideki is more careful this time, he accepts Ako’s proposal. He goes out of his way and claims that her actual gender does not matter to him as long as she looks cute in the game.
Subsequently, all the members of the guild decide to have an offline meeting. Hideki realizes that all the members of his guild are his schoolmates. Additionally, none of them are girls! All the members together form a school club to play the game. We watch Hideki and Ako’s to understand their feelings for each other. They are tied between the virtual and the real world.

Season 1 of the anime was released on April 7, 2016, and it had a successful run throughout. The finale aired on June 23, 2016. It consisted of a total of 12 episodes. Since the very first episode, the anime managed to gather a huge fan base. In a short span of time, it has become a major hit. Therefore, the fans are waiting for a follow-up season. Well, there’s enough source material considering the 18 volumes of the manga series. Out of this, 4 volumes have been adapted to make the first season. We can conclude that’s there enough material for the second season and may I say even a third!
