High school DxD is a Japanese anime produced by TNK and aired on Tokyo TV’s satellite channel AT-X. The show premiered on January 6, 2012, and has aired 4 seasons since then with each season having 12 episodes. The last episode of the last season aired on July 3, 2018. Since then fans have been clamoring for High School DXD Season 5.
High School DxD Season 5 Storyline
The protagonist Issei Hyodo is a reserved introverted school kid, who fantasizes about having a girlfriend. His fantasies come true when Yuuma Amano, asks him out. Afterward, she reveals herself to be an angel. Issei also encounters another girl named Rias Gremory, who is a devil.
The first season ends with a duel between Riser Phenex, the third son of the Phenex clan and the ex-fiance of Rias, and Issei, where Issei defeats Riser. Rias then decided to stay with Issei. In the second season, Kiba and Gasper master their Sacred Gear, Azazel gets a new arm. All the peers of Ria move into Hyodo House.
At the climax of the third season, Issei reveals to Azazel, about his aspirations to become the Harem King, after he defeats Juggernaut drive and meeting the Great Red also known as the Apocalypse Dragon. In the last episode of the last season, Issei confesses his love to Rias and is also promoted to the rank of mid-devil.
High School DxD Season 5 Official Announcement
Passione Studios and the director of the Show, Yoshifume Sueda have confirmed Season 5 of the anime. The show would reportedly continue with the “Hero Oppai Dragon” storyline which was part of Volume 9 and Volume 10 from the source material.
No other details have been confirmed so far, Fans of the series can only wait for the new announcement. Hopefully, some new details would come sooner rather than later.

The cast members would most likely remain the same as the previous seasons. That would mean Yuki Kaji as Issei Hyodo, Yoko Hikasa as Rias Gremory, Azumi Asakura as Asia Argento, Shizuka Ito as Akeno Himejima, Ayana Taketatsu as Koneko Toujou, Kenji Nojima as Yuuto Kiba, Risa Taneda as Xenovia Quarta, Maaya Uchida as Irina Shido, Rikiya Koyama as Azazel, Junichi Suwabe as Sirzechs Lucifer and many others can be expected to make a comeback
High School DxD Season 5 Release Date
No Release Date has been confirmed, even though the fifth season has been announced. There is also no announcement of filming taking place, which is probably due to virus delays.
So bearing in mind all the production and filming time, add to that developing, writing, and editing, the second season would probably be released somewhere around Mid-2021 to Late 2021 or even early 2022.
