Animes employ various narrative techniques to suit their storylines. The series Durarara or DRRR began its course a decade ago and is based on the Japanese light novels written by Ryohgo Narita and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda. The non-linear trajectory, followed by the show, plays mind games and keeps its audience engaged thoroughly. The previous 2 seasons have had a blast in terms of its viewership and fame. This has further lit up hope for Durarara Season 3.

Durarara Season 3 Official Announcement
Unfortunately, there has been no official announcement for the renewal of Durarara Season 3 yet. On top of that, many series have been postponed due to the outbreak of the pandemic. Durarara could be one such show suffering from a similar fate. We will have to wait a bit longer to hear anything about the show’s progression from its creators.

Durarara Season 3 Release Date
The first season began broadcasting on 8 January 2010 on MBS, TBS and CBC. After an extended hiatus, the second season, titled Durarara!!×2 came out in 2015. It was produced by studio Shack in place of Brain’s Base and finished airing in 2016. Considering the gap between the first two seasons, we can hope for the release date of Durarara Season 3 to be somewhere in 2021.

The Storyline
One’s movement from a small town to a metropolitan city can be fuelled by the glamorous status of the latter. However, it comes accompanied by various new threats like nefarious gangs hidden in the underbelly of the city. A young boy named Mikado Ryugamine sets out to experience the city life of Ikebukuro as a student at Raira Academy. He is warned by his long time friend Masaomi Kida about people like Shizuo Heiwajima, Izaya Orihara, and the gang infamously known as “The Dollars”.
Each episode of the series brings to light the life and perspective of all the characters one at a time. The plot is centered around the happenings in the city of Ikebukuro and how the separate lives of each character come together to result in a labyrinth of situations, that eventually has them tied to each other.
