Death Parade is a Japanese anime series directed, created, and written by Yuzuru Tachikawa. Season one had 12 episodes. Madhouse produced the series. The anime television series was adapted from a short film named ‘Death Billiards.’ The television series aired in Japan from January 9, 2015, to March 27, 2015. The show is available on Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Amazon. The good news for people who watch in English is that the series is easily available in the language. Many popular voice artists have given their voice to the show. Fans are getting anxious now. Let’s hope and pray that the new year brings the good news of the sequel. We are keeping our ears and eyes open on Death Parade Season 2 and we will update as soon as we hear something.
Death Parade Season 2 Release Date
Five years ago Death Parade introduced us to the games of the afterlife. The series became an unexpected hit among fans when it was released in 2015. Madhouse is under extreme pressure to come up with season two. Despite the studio being known for creating one season anime series, it had to give in to the requests of the fans and promise that the famous series will make a comeback. The makers are keeping mum.
After announcing a season 2 in 2016, there has been no recent development and the release date remains unknown. Albeit, Madhouse hasn’t announced that the series is canceled. On a positive note, we can hope and pray that the show will be officially announced soon. There are many theories doing rounds on the reason why the show has not made a comeback yet. Some say that the makers are short of content. Unlike other anime series, Death Parade is not adapted from a Manga. Madhouse is popular for creating popular series that include Death Note, One Punch Man, Hunter x Hunter, and more. Since an actual source material is not available, the writers will have to draft a completely new storyline for Death Parade Season 2 that coincides with season one’s ending.
The Plot
To guess the plot of Death Parade Season 2, let’s go back and look at what happened in the previous season. Death Parade introduces us to the complex world of the afterlife, where people are sent to one of many mysterious bars after they die. Dead people are forced to participate in Death games to decide whether they will be reincarnated or sent to the void.

The central characters are Decim, a bartender, and Arbiter of Quindecim. Decim meets a meddlesome black-haired woman named Chiyuki and starts developing human emotions. After a lot of action, Decim decides to reincarnate Chiyuki. Decim remains in the bar, ready to welcome new souls while Chiyuki starts a new life. The plot details of season 2 are unknown, however, the writers might explore the character of Decom more by focusing on his back story. It’s also exciting to see how Decim’s behavior as an Arbiter will change after the emotional encounter with Chiyuki.
Chiyuki might go back to the afterlife once her newly incarnated life perish. Will she be able to recognize Decim?
Death Parade Season 2 Cast
We don’t know which character will make an appearance in Death Parade Season 2. It is very difficult to guess the plot and the characters of season 2. Let’s look at some of the major characters of season 1.

The bartender oversees the people who have died and make them play Death games. He judges the dead people.
- Chiyuki voiced by Asami Seto
A woman who doesn’t remember anything. She has no memory of her name. She is referred to as ‘the black-haired-woman’.

In the appearance of a young girl, Decim’s boss.
- Ginti voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya
An arbiter bartender.
The format of the show is such that each episode focuses on a new character who is judged, Death Parade has many characters. However, there are only two protagonists and a few important supporting characters.
