Avatar 2: Release Date
The initial release date of Avatar 2 was December 2021 but due to the coronavirus outbreak, the production and the making of the sequel have been delayed.
The virtual production work has started and is taking place in Los Angeles. The production progressed in early June in New Zealand, and without further delays, the sequel aims to come out in 2022.
What will be the title of the Upcoming Movie?
BBC has reported that the film could be called Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar: The Seed Bearer, and Avatar: The Tulkun Rider. Cameron has confirmed that these are potential titles, but could be subject to change.
The Expected Plot
The producer of the movie has said that each movie is a standalone and Cameron has teased us with a few details of the new movie.
The sequel is set years after Avatar, where now Sully is the chieftain and Neytiri is the high priestess of their clan. The movie will focus on their children who would be journeying beyond the forests of Pandora and into underwater and volcanic environments. Lang will be back as the dead Colonel Miles Quaritch.

New Cast and who is expected to Return?
The main cast of the first Avatar movie is all on contract and is expected to return for the second part. Zoe Saldana will come back for the role of Neytir with Sam Worthington as Jake Sully. Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang will be back too, even though their characters died in the first film. Lang will also be returning in this sci-fi sequel.
Kate Winslet is also expected to join the cast as a new character! It has been reported that Jemaine Clement has joined the series as Dr. Ian Garvin. Cliff Curtis will be joining the sequel with Edie Falco who is playing the new character General Ardmore.
