The setting of this anime is unusual and might remind you of a fantasy role-playing game. It takes place in the made-up city of Orario, where all the gods have come down from the heavens to indulge in a hedonistic lifestyle. They create a Dungeon where mortals can fight monsters in exchange of crystal shards, with these shards they can craft magical items, they can also exchange the shards for money. Everyone who fights in the Dungeon is called Adventurers, and every Adventurer belongs to a Familia, each Familia serves a god, and also there are levels, which one must reach through hardship and toil.

The story follows Bell Cranel, a 14 year old teenager who serves Goddess Hestia, he is the sole member of the Hestia Familia. He admires Ais Wallenstein, a powerful swordswoman, who saved his life. However, other deities, girls and mortals have also developed affection for him, which includes Hestia.

In the previous episode, we see Wien afraid as she sees Elves fighting with humans. One of the humans, Dix stabs the Bull Monster called “Foh” with a spear. They kill about half of the monsters and elves. After killing Foh, he turns towards Wien and says that she is next. Meanwhile, Bell is at home worried about Wien. Dix has put Wien to sleep for some reason, while his right hand man is busy beating a spider elf girl.

Dix’s henchmen try to rape the Spider Elf Girl, but she takes them down and signals Gross to come to their aid. Gross reaches but to no avail. Dix also comes but he is late. This results in monsters attacking human settlement and Dix has kept Wien as a hostage. Bell wonders when the war will end and hopes to make an end to this never-ending feud.

The series looks like it is going towards a biblical route, where the end message is going to be forgiveness and uniting for the betterment of all. However, it is going to be interesting to see what happens in the next episode. Would Bell be able to rescue Wien and what would happen if Gross crosses paths with Bell, would he understand Bell or would his vengeance consume his sense of reasoning.
