The Science Fiction or Mecha (having to do with robots) based anime, Darling in the Franxx completed its run of 24 episodes in 2018. The show received mostly positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. Despite the Sci-Fi driven plot, the anime also included elements of Romance and Coming of Age, which acted as a cherry on top. Ever since then, the viewers have been counting the days till the premiere of Darling in Franxx Season 2. However, the future of the series seems uncertain at the moment. Darling in the Franxx Season 2 Announcement & Release Date
As of now, the official sources haven’t laid down any framework for a sequel that may be in the works. Nothing regarding a second installment has been discussed till now but the fans’ response may help turn the tables around. Only time will tell if Season 2 will make it or not.

In the meantime, you can look out for the manga adaptation of the series and the following spin-off manga as well. These two bring out some deviations from the original anime plot.
The Storyline

Set in a post-apocalyptic world, gigantic creatures called Klaxosaurs torment humanity. As a result, a squad of defenders is brought together to fight them and save the world.
The last episode of the first season was a bit of a rollercoaster, especially since both Hiro and Zero Two die while fighting for the cause. However, they are soon reunited upon reincarnation on Earth. There is still a lot left to be unpacked and it can only happen if the series is renewed for another season. Here’s to hoping for the best!
