John Wick is one of the highest-grossing movies of the action-thriller genre with the pinch of the mafia, next to narcos. All 3 seasons nearly made $500+ million on the Box office. In fact, Chapter 3 alone made $325 million worldwide in 2019.
Summit Entertainment (better known as Lionsgate) has produced the American movie series, and Derek Kolstad has created it. It stars Keanu Reaves, who plays as the protagonist John Wick. 3 chapters of the movie have already been launched since 2016. 4th movie is set to launch soon as an official announcement is made by Lionsgate.
John Wick Movie History
In the first movie released in 2014, John wick is a character who lost his parents early and was brought up by Tarasov Russian mafia. He became an assassin in his teen years and soon earned the name Boogeyman. As the movie starts, it shows John has been inactive as an assassin for nearly 5 years, after retiring from the mafia.
The second movie showed the compulsion of John to repay the loan and to reciprocate the same; he is supposed to assassinate a target without any wish. Later, the sponsor of assassination betrays him increasing the plethora of troubles for him.
What all we know about John Wick 4?
Lionsgate announced the fourth chapter in the initial week of the release of Chapter 3, be sure about the success. Direction Chad Stahelski had said to EW, “Keanu and I have ideas for days.” I enjoy making these movies because there’s no limit,” “We create our own mythology, and we have a studio that both stays out of our way and supports us on the wacky decisions.”
In the third chapter (Parabellum), John Wick keeps running and hiding as there’s a $14 million open contract to hunt him down. John gets some hourly favors and continues his pushing efforts to make his way out of NYC. Parabellum is a common name of a bullet, Latin meaning being “prepare for war’.
Surely, there’s a war heating up between the High Table assassins and John Wick during his return to Continental. We can expect development and high-heat on the war aspect in chapter 4. Further to that, there’s no piece of information about the plot.
However, we have some words from Stahelski, “John may survive all this shit, but at the end of it, there’s no happy ending. He’s got nowhere to go. Honestly, I challenge you right now, here’s a question to you: How do you f**king want me to end it?”
Do you think he’s going to ride off into the f**king sunset? He’s killed 300 f**king people, and he’s just going to [walk away], everything’s okay? He’s just going to fall in love with a love interest?
“If you’re this f**king guy, if this guy really exists [ed], how is this guy’s day going to end? He’s f**ked for the rest of his life. It’s just a matter of time.”
John Wick 4 Release Date & Delays?
As officially confirmed, it will release on May 21, 2020, with a date-crossover with ‘The Matrix 4′. Those who are wondering about the overlap of the characters of John Wick and Neo (both played by Keanu Reeves), there’ s no surety of that.
