After an amazing Kingdom season 2, fans are excitedly waiting for Netflix to renew the Korean zombie drama for Kingdom Season 3.
What is Kingdom Season 3 about?
‘Kingdom’ is a South Korean series penned by Kim Eun-hee. The horror series is based off on the book ‘Land of the Gods’ by Kim Eun-hee. The Netflix Original series quickly became one of the most successful non-English titles.
Kingdom Season 3 Release Date
The second season was aired seven months ago, and we are yet to receive an official confirmation about the renewal. The suspicions of the show returning were bolstered when the series announced that they would be doing bonus episodes. These bonus episodes will explore the character of Gianna Jun.
However, Kingdom: Ashin of the North has been confirmed to release in 2021. Additionally, The Hollywood Reporter interviewed Kim Eun-hee and Park in (director) and this might be a strong indication of season 3 happening.
In any case, we cannot expect the third season before 2021 due to the global COVI-19 pandemic.
Ju Ji-Hoon will be back as Prince Chang
Bae Doo-Na will play Seobi
Kim Sung-Kyu will play Young-Shin
Jun Suk-Ho will be Jo Beom-Pal
Ahn Eun Jin as Moo Young’s Wife
And in 2019, it was disclosed that Jun Ji Hyun was cast again (her character died in the previous season). Her role has been kept under covers (and this strongly suggests the third season).
Kingdom Season 3 is likely to focus on Prince Chang trying to retreat the abandoned village in the North as they are ridiculously outnumbered. We can expect even more plague and zombies. Motives of the culprit spreading plague might be revealed. Seobi’s research may progress in this season and we’ll know if the prince will be the new undead prince.
No Official Trailer for Kingdom Season 3 is available right now! Here is a trailer for Kingdom season 2!
