Madhya Pradesh Assembly Adjourned Till 26th March! No Trust Proceedings Happened And Kamalnath Govt. Got More Time To Save Their Government

After an hour, the Legislative Assembly of Madhya Pradesh was convened on the 16th of March, 2020. The Assembly stood adjourned till the 26th of March 2020. Governor Lalji Tandon’s advise to the MLAs in the House before the adjourning of the Assembly was as follows:

“All must follow the rules under the constitution so that the dignity of Madhya Pradesh remains protected.”

Hours before the Madhya Pradesh Assembly convened on Monday, 16th of March, a letter was written by CM Kamal Nath to the Governor, excerpts of which say neither his directives to hold a floor test in the MP assembly were not in his constitutional capacities and nor interfering with the functions of the speaker.

Excerpts from the letter also mentioned, “Congress MLAs being held hostage in Karnataka.” He also said that the MLAs were being forced to make statements on video and that a floor test proceeding can only take place if “all MLAs are free from coercion.” 

The Congress leader, the  Chief Minister of MP, has dared BJP to bring in a no-confidence motion. 

“Nobody has stopped it from bringing the motion. We will prove our majority,” the Congress leader said.

As per ANI updates, the Madhya Pradesh BJP legislators met Governor Lalji Tandon and requested him to order for floor test as early as possible. Also, Governor Lalji Tandon wrote to CM Kamal Nath that conducting a floor test on the 17th of March is necessary, or else it will be considered that you don’t have any majority in the Assembly.

The ex-CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the MP Government has lost its majority and has no right to remain in power.
