Netflix renews fox network’s television series Lucifer Season 5

Fans are both happy and sad with the latest announcement of Netflix. The streaming giant renewed fan-favorite Lucifer for the fifth season, but sadly, the same will also be the conclusion.

The new season will consist of 16 episodes instead of 10 episodes in the last season. It has also been confirmed that the last season will consist of two parts containing 8 episodes each. The second part will be released a few days after the first part has been released. There is no information available on the duration of this break.

How was the devil resurrected?

Lucifer is a fantasy comedy-drama series that follows the Devil Lucifer Morningstar portrayed by (Tom Ellis) who abandons his duties in Hell and joins LAPD as a consultant.

The show was canceled after three seasons when it first premiered on the Fox network. Unhappy with the decision of Fox, Fans of the series launched a #bringbackLucifer campaign. Cast

Last season finished with Lucifer going back to Hell to protect his love Chloe Decker (Lauren German). The official synopsis of season 5 has not been released yet. Still, some clues regarding events in the fifth season are available such as a musical episode, a 1940s noir themed episode, the return of Lucifer’s first girlfriend Eve played Inbar Levi, Lesley Ann Brandt who plays Mazikeen fighting new enemies, Dennis Haysbert playing God.

Apart from actors mentioned above cast includes Kevin Alejandro as Detective Daniel “Dan” Espinoza, Rachel Harris as Dr. Linda Martin, D.B Woodside as Amenadiel, Kevin Rankin as Detective Malcolm Graham among others.

A Release Date?

Netflix has not announced a release date for the last season, but it is expected to release sometime in 2020.

Season 6, Maybe?

Fans are not happy with the show ending, but we have seen the show being resurrected earlier, and if showrunners play their cards right, we may see a #bringbackLuciferagain campaign and maybe a season 6.
