Pinocchio Season 2 Storyline

Pinocchio Season 2 centers around Choi Dal Po, who previously went by the name Ki-Ha Myung, and Choi In-Ha, who has a ‘Pinocchio Syndrome,’ which causes her to hiccup whenever she lies. Dal Po was actually born as Ha Myung, but his father Ho-Sang had died during a factory explosion in his childhood. Still, the media, led by Song Cha-Ok frames Ha Myung as the perpetrator of the incident and accuses him of hiding. This leads to his mother committing suicide along with him, leaving only his older brother Jae-Myung behind. However Ha Myung, survives and is rescued by Choi Gong-Pil, who has some memory defect, believes him to be his long late son Choi Dal Po. Ha Myung having nowhere to go, agrees to adopt this identity.

Five months later, Gong-Pil’s younger son Choi Dal-Pyung arrives with his daughter Choi-In Ha, Choi In-Ha’s parents are divorced, and she idolizes her mother. However, Dal Po later learns that In-Ha’s mother is none other than Song Cha-Ok.

Five years later, Both In-Ha and Dal Po are high school students. Dal Po, who is pretty smart, pretends to be dumb and consistently fails his school to keep up with the ruse. Meanwhile, In-Ha is a popular school girl. We come to know that In-Ha has ambitions of becoming a journalist.

We move forward to 2013, where In-Ha faces hurdles in her career prospects and repeatedly meets obstacles from her mother, who believes that a reporter with Pinocchio Syndrome would be useless. Knowing this, Dal-Po also becomes motivated to become a journalist. Dal-Po gets hired by YGN, a rival company of Cha-Ok’s MSC. Due to the low ratings of MSC, Cha-Ok hires In-Ha as a publicity stunt. Later, In-Ha learns the disgusting truth about her mother and vows to bring her down with the help of Dal-Po. Also, Jae Myung is alive but is on a revenge spree. He has killed three factory workers who lied about his father.

In the end, we see Song Cha-Ok accepting her mistake and Dal Po, who is going by his real name now, tying the knot with In-Ha.

There is no official announcement about Pinocchio Season 2. The show did seem to end on a conclusive note, so there is a low chance of another season. However, the show was top-rated, with fans giving the series an 8.1 rating on IMDb. So, there is a 60-40 chance for the next season.
