Stranger Season 3 is a South Korean crime thriller drama television series. The first season came out on tvN on June 10, 2017. Then the series was renewed for a season and aired from August 15, 2020. This series is so ambitious that it has received nominations for several accolades, winning the Grand Prize for Television at the 54th Baeksang Arts Awards. It got aired on Netflix for the global audience and hope to be renewed for Stranger Season 3 in near future.
Stranger Season 3 Plot
In the first season, Hwang Si-Mok is an exemplary Prosecutor who suffered from a disease related to pitch and sensitivity of the sound. After getting surgery he lost and gain at the same time. He gains something out of surgery but lost empathy and social skills along the way. He meets Police Lieutenant Han Yeo-jin, who assists him in solving a murder case. As the case proceeds further they unravel that their efforts are being sabotaged.
In the second season, we see the Prosecutors’ Office and the National Police Agency getting mixed in a dispute over authority over the investigative proceedings. Meanwhile, Hwang Si-Mok and Han Yeo-jin attempt to solve a series of crimes on their own.
The finale wraps up on a conclusive note, uncovering the main antagonist to be Woo Tae Ha — someone who had been as unassuming as possible, all this while. The conclusion tells us how under-qualified men grab the upper positions of hierarchy by resorting to dirty tricks and schemes.
The Cast
The lead cast of Stranger Season 3 includes Cho Seung-woo as Hwang Si-Mok, a prosecutor, employed at Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office. Lee Joon-hyuk stars as Seo Dong-Jae, Si-Mok’s colleague, while Yoon Se-ah essays Lee Yeon-Jae – the Chairwoman and CEO of Hanjo Group. Bae Doona plays Han Yeo-jin, Senior Inspector at Yongsan Police Station.
Stranger Season 3 Release Date
Stranger’s Season 2 premiered on August 15, 2020, on Netflix. It just winded up its 16th episode on October 4, 2020. In terms of content, it has concluded everything in the finale but there is always a page left in a book to read. Therefore, in terms of content and response, ‘Stranger’ holds the scope to spawn a new edition. If Netflix gives it a go soon, we can expect ‘Stranger’ season 3 to premiere sometime in 2022.
