Taken 4 Release Date Updates and More

Liam Neeson has a lot of range in terms of acting. Apart from diverse portrayals, right from his Oscar-nominated role in Schindler’s List to popular rom-coms like Love Actually, he has gone on to star in films like The Commuter, Run All Night, Non-Stop, The Grey, Cold Pursuit, The Ice Road, The Marksman, and Honest Thief. The Irish actor has also surprised fans with his stint in the high-intensity action flick, Taken, in 2008. The thriller saw Neeson as Bryan Mills, a retired CIA operative who must rely on his training to rescue his daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace) who was kidnapped or “taken” by a group of human traffickers. The 69-year-old actor spoke about how he became an unlikely action star TODAY while promoting his latest thriller, Blacklight.

Taken 4 Release Date

Taken 4 release date is eagerly awaited by the audience. However, the prospect of Taken 4 seems highly unlikely. Neeson on a chat show denied any possibility of part 4. Taken is a trilogy. The first film was released on 27 February 2008 in France and later in the United States on 30 January 2009. It was followed by Taken 2 which was released in 2012 and Taken 3 in 2014.

In 2017 a television series premiered on NBC. The TV series ran for two seasons. The second season premiered in January 2018. On May 11, 2018, NBC canceled the series.

“I started being offered all these action scripts,” Neeson said in an interview with Willie Geist. “And I’m going, ‘Wow. The lead is 29 years of age.'” Neeson joked he would cross out the age and edit it to read “55, 56, 57.” “I turn 70 this year, so I’m still getting away with it,” Neeson said. “I think the action movies will draw to a close—they have to,” he said. “Audiences aren’t stupid, you know. They’re gonna go, ‘Oh, f— this guy, Liam Neeson. He’s got to be 71, 72, 73…’ I’ll stop at some stage.” But he does love working on action movies, he admitted. “I like doing it,” he told People (the TV Show!). “The scripts are good. I’m kind of like a kid in a candy store.” Even his sons approve of his action star status. “They’re very much behind me, I think,” he said. “I haven’t caught them laughing when I’ve left the room.” The actor even does a lot of his stunts on his own!

Taken was followed by two sequels, as well as a prequel TV series that ran on NBC for two seasons. The show was canceled in 2018 and since then, the franchise has been dormant, reports Looper. But looks like that’s about to change because according to Giant Freakin Robot, the actor is likely to return in the fourth installment of Taken. The first three films were overwhelming box office hits although the sequels didn’t do all that well, critically. Luc Besson penned the script for all three of the first films, producing them as well. Pierre Morel directed Taken while Olivier Megaton helmed the second and third films. The outlet reports that Neeson will be on another mission to save someone who’s been, “taken” in the upcoming sequel.
