[Update] Suryavanshi Postponed Release Date Due To Coronavirus, Gossips And Everything You Should Know

The film was set to be released on 24 March but has now been postponed because of the global COVID-19 Pandemic. After sending the world in a state of frenzy, the coronavirus outbreak has started impacting the world of entertainment as well. Rohit Shetty’s Suryavanshi, featuring Akshay Kumar, has now been indefinitely postponed. The makers of the film had been discussing the possibility of following the rising number of coronavirus infections across India.

Rohit Shetty took to Instagram to share the statement and wrote, “Suryavanshi is an experience that we have created for you with over a year of dedication and hard work, and the response we received for its trailer was nothing less than electrifying and made it clear that this film truly belongs to its audience…We have been as excited as you are to present the film to you and your family. Still, due to the recent outburst of the COVID – 19 (Coronavirus), we, the makers, have decided to postpone the release of  film Suryavanshi, keeping in mind the health and safety of our beloved audience...”

The statement further reads, “And therefore, Suryavanshi will be back for you just when the time is right…After all, safety comes first…Until then, keep the excitement alive, take good care of yourself and stay strong…We shall pull through this…


The film takes place in Shetty’s so-called cop film universe, which also encompasses Ajay Devgan’s Singham and Ranveer Singh’s Simmba. Suryavanshi introduces another star cop. In Suryavanshi, actor Akshay Kumar will be seen as ATS officer Veer Suryavanshi on a lookout for terrorists planning a deadly strike in Mumbai.

Ajay Devgan and Ranveer Singh will also reprise their roles of Singham and Simmba to help Akshay bust the terror plot. Actress Katrina Kaif will be seen as Veer Suryavanshi’s wife while Jackie Shroff plays the antagonist.
